Agriculture is More Than Farming:

Check Out the Ag & Food Careers Website!

With COVID-19 causing many changes this school year, we’re pleased to share a resource that gives educators resources to help students navigate their passions and discover their future.

The Grow PA Agriculture Workforce Development Committee and its partnering organizations have developed a website to share about the endless career opportunities in agriculture and spread the message that “agriculture is more than farming.” This website was designed specifically with middle school and high school students in mind for them to explore and discover the different careers in the agricultural industry.

At, you will find resources to help you promote agricultural careers in your classroom! We hope you will share these resources with students, colleagues, teachers and administrative staff.

Here are a few highlights about what is included on this website.

  • Over 50 Career Pages- Do you have students who don’t know where to start? Encourage your students to search the Career Pages to figure out what they’re interested in.
  • Over 50 interview-style videos created by college students, for secondary students - Our videos spotlight careers in business, mechanics, plant science, food science, animal science and environmental resource conservation.
  • One-Page Agriculture Career Fact Sheets - These one-page, downloadable and printable pages are perfect if you are looking to highlight certain careers to specific students. These fact sheets contain information about job outlooks, salaries and job responsibilities and make a great addition to a bulletin board or hallway! The sky is the limit with careers in agriculture! (Click here for an example.)
  • Links to Additional Resources - Our website also highlights other career exploration tools such as Ag Explorer, an interest survey that matches students with an agriculture career that is the right fit for them!

Watch this video to learn how to navigate the website and use resources in your classroom.

We hope that you utilize this resource with your students this upcoming school year and welcome your feedback, questions, and concerns via the contact form on our website.
