College Application Instructions

Applying to college is a multi-step process that involves more than simply completing and submitting an application. You will need to complete your college application, connect your Common App and Naviance accounts, request teacher recommendations, authorize the Counseling Center to send your school documents, and complete any additional requirements such as STARS, test scores, financial aid forms, or college-specific supplements. You are responsible for knowing the requirements and deadlines for each college to which you apply.

Use the instructions below as a step-by-step guide throughout the application process. Start early, keep track of your deadlines, and check each college's admissions website regularly for the most up-to-date information. Do not wait until the application deadline to request school documents or recommendations. The Counseling Center needs time to process your requests and submit materials. Most importantly, take ownership of the process: stay organized, ask questions when you are unsure about something, and regularly check your email and college application portals for updates and next steps.
