"A Patriotic Portrait"

Ladies and Gentlemen, Unionville HS is proud to present the 2003 Unionville HS Marching Band, under the direction of band director G. Scott Litzenberg and Assistant Director Matt Gallagher. The band is proud to represent the Unionville Community in our many performances. The band is led onto the field by Drum Majors Beth Kemeney & Brendan McEvoy. Our color guard Captains are Alisa Bartash & Erin Winterbottom.

This years show is titled A Patriotic Portrait. In this, a year of much international turmoil, we are paying tribute to our country, our armed forces and to patriotism with our show which opens with a medley of patriotic songs in America...Let Freedom Ring. The show then moves pays tribute to simpler times in this country by playing strains of Aaron Copeland's Simple Gifts, which features soilists Tom Frick, Catherine Eisele and Eric McQuillan. Our country has gone through rough times in the past. One of the toughest was the tumoil of the civil war. We pay homage to this time in out history with the thrilling When Johhny Comes Marching Home. We end our patriotic tribute with the stirring strains of the Battle Hymn which leads in to a good old hometown USA parade with the Stars & Stripes Forever.

We will be competing at Cavalcade of Bands shows at Coatesville HS on September 27, West Chester University on October 25, and at all Home & Away Football Games.
